Wholesale bottle prices per quantity break

Undecorated FOB prices per piece at common wholesale breaks. The step between 10,000 and 30,000 is usually the last large one — beyond that you are buying material, not saving on set-up.

Bottle type 3,000 10,000 30,000 100,000 MOQ
Dropper bottle 30 ml$0.82$0.70$0.62$0.555,000
Pump bottle 50 ml$0.49$0.42$0.37$0.335,000
Spray bottle 100 ml$0.53$0.38$0.35$0.315,000

Why CBM matters more than unit price

Two suppliers can quote the same $0.42 bottle and deliver very different landed costs, because the carton is part of the product you are paying to ship.

Freight is charged on volume Sea LCL is priced per CBM, not per kilo. A carton that is 2 cm deeper than necessary costs you money on every single shipment. $/CBM
Air is charged on weight Air freight uses chargeable weight — the greater of actual kilos and volumetric kilos at 1:6,000. Glass bottles are heavy, so air only makes sense for samples. $/kg
FCL beats LCL at volume Above roughly 15 CBM a 20ft container is cheaper than paying per CBM, even if the container is not full. The break-even depends on the lane. ≈ 15 CBM
Decoration ships too A sprayed or hot-stamped bottle needs interleaving or individual polybags, which adds 8–15% to packed volume. Budget for it before the quote, not after. +8–15% CBM

What "wholesale price" actually includes

Every number here is FOB China, undecorated, packed in export cartons. That covers the bottle, its closure — dropper, pump, sprayer or lid — and the carton. It does not cover printing, coating, labelling, pallets, export documentation or destination duties. Those are the four lines that turn an FOB quote into a landed cost.

The quantity break nobody explains

Between 3,000 and 10,000 pcs, most of the saving comes from spreading set-up across the run, so the price drops sharply. Between 10,000 and 100,000 pcs the saving is material purchasing and moulding efficiency, so it flattens out at roughly 20% in total. If a supplier quotes you a dramatic drop from 30,000 to 100,000, ask what changed in the specification — usually the wall thickness did.

How to compare two suppliers properly

Ask each for the same four numbers: unit price, pieces per carton, carton dimensions in cm, and gross weight per carton. Then calculate CBM per 1,000 pcs for each. A supplier 6% cheaper per piece with a carton 12% larger is more expensive landed, and that gap widens with every shipment you place.

Wholesale pricing questions

What is the wholesale price of a cosmetic bottle?

For undecorated stock bottles at 10,000 pcs FOB China: about $0.32 for a 50 g PP cream jar, $0.38 for a 100 ml PET spray bottle, $0.42 for a 50 ml pump bottle and $0.70 for a 30 ml glass dropper bottle. Add $0.03–$0.12 for decoration.

Why does the price drop between 10,000 and 30,000 pcs?

Moulding set-up, colour change, print plates and packing labour are one-off costs per run. Spreading them over three times the quantity removes about 11% from the unit price. Beyond 30,000 the remaining savings come from raw material purchasing, which is why the curve flattens.

How many bottles fit in a 20ft container?

Depends on bottle size. A 50 ml pump bottle packed 300 per carton at 0.055 CBM gives roughly 500 cartons, or about 150,000 pcs in a 20ft container loaded to 28 CBM. A 100 ml spray bottle packs closer to 200 per carton, so around 82,000 pcs.

Is sea freight or air freight better?

Sea for anything above a few hundred kilos — it is 8–12× cheaper per unit. Air only makes sense for samples, launch stock or a stock-out emergency. Note that air freight is charged on chargeable weight, so a light PET bottle can be charged on volume rather than actual kilos.

Does the wholesale price include caps and pumps?

Yes — a bottle is quoted as a complete unit with its closure. What is not included is decoration, individual polybagging, pallets, and any insert or secondary packaging. Ask for those as separate lines so you can compare suppliers on the same basis.

What payment terms are normal for wholesale bottle orders?

30% deposit with order and 70% before shipment is standard. For repeat orders, 30/70 against the bill of lading or a 30-day credit line is sometimes available once a trading history exists. Tooling for a custom mould is usually paid up front and separately.
